The Fair Economy Project is a research and advocacy project that uses the American historical experience and policy research to help reveal and broaden public understanding of the racial roots of contemporary American economic inequality to help build an economy that works for everyone.
About Cara
Cara Letofsky, Founder and Director
Cara is a regional policy leader with over 25 years of experience working at the intersection of community organizing, urban and regional housing and community development policy, and history. Her experience includes directing several neighborhood organizations; working as a Mayoral policy aide on housing, community development, and sustainability; and serving on the Metropolitan Council, the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area. Cara holds two Masters degrees in American History from Hunter College/ City University of New York Graduate Center and in Public Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
She founded The Fair Economy Project to help broaden public understanding of the systemic racism ingrained in the American political economy that underlies contemporary racial economic inequality.
